Microsoft marks its 50th Anniversary with Copilot event & AI world record attempt

As part of the festivities, you'll hear from Microsoft leaders, past and present.

April is an exciting time for Microsoft. This Friday, 4 April US time, is Microsoft’s 50th Anniversary, and as part of the wider celebratory event with employees, Microsoft will share Copilot news and updates. This portion of the event will be publicly livestreamed on Friday 4 April at 9:30am PT (Saturday 5 April, 12:30am Singapore time), so you’re invited to tune in or watch on demand to hear about Microsoft’s latest innovations with Copilot.

As part of the festivities, you’ll hear from Microsoft leaders, past and present. Mustafa Suleyman will kick off by showcasing the latest AI innovations, what’s next with consumer AI, and more about the Copilot companion for all. The event will celebrate Microsoft’s history and look ahead to how the company is setting the agenda for the next 50 years.

Then next week, on Tuesday 8 April, you’re invited to make history with AI. Microsoft is making a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt for AI learning as part of its 50th Anniversary celebrations. You can register for the AI Skills Fest with Microsoft here aka.ms/AISkillsFest, complete a 45-minute learning activity on 8 April, and become a World Record Holder.

Once the officials have verified the attempt, participants will get a virtual record-holder badge for ‘most users to take an online multi-level artificial intelligence lesson in 24 hours’. The global 24-hour window begins on Tuesday 8 April at 7:00am Singapore time, so we encourage you and your audience to sign up and mark their calendars!

Find more information about the company celebration on the Microsoft 50th Anniversary website, which will be updated with the Copilot news and other updates once they are live from the end of this week, and in the meantime, you can check out Microsoft’s timeline for a scroll down memory lane.
