Dynatrace, the leader in user-centric application performance management (APM) will organize a series of educational meet-ups to further educate Malaysian companies and authorities on the need to monitor and keep applications performance high. The initiative was established in order to promote the exchange of knowledge between industry professionals and to further support the local IT economy by building a knowledgeable workforce.
According to Dynatrace reports, today’s consumer expects mobile applications to load within 3 seconds or less, and failing to meet the expectations of consumers would result in user dissatisfaction. Due to an increase in online transactions, rising mobile adoption rates and overall Internet penetration, there is an urge for companies, especially those in the finance and retail sectors to trace transactions and monitor end-to-end performance to prevent revenue losses and sustain business profitability.
“We noticed that the APM awareness level among Malaysian companies can be improved and there’s still more that can be done to further enhance overall user satisfaction. As consumers nowadays would look for instant responses and faster performance from service providers, it is crucial for companies to evaluate and make improvements in time to meet the user’s demand. This would eventually help make Malaysian companies more competitive in the global marketplace,” explained Koh Eng Kiong, the ASEAN director for Dynatrace.
Eng Kiong adds, “This is why we want to roll out the APM Meet-up sessions and encourage companies to join and learn with our experts. We hope to enable Malaysia’s IT community to provide better products and service levels to Malaysia end users through the sharing of best practices.” During the organized meet-ups, apps developers, company IT professionals and other industry players will share on areas that do have an impact on web and mobile app performance, and discuss why APM is important and solutions on how to address performance issues.
The APM Meet-up will be Dynatrace’s third initiative following the offer of a free assessment tool and a public Global Benchmarks Data for business executives, that enables them to get a view of current performance in comparison to their industry peers.
Government agencies like The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) are taking user’s digital needs seriously and making constant efforts to maintain and enhance internal applications. Recently, Dynatrace has started to work with LHDN to boost applications performance to cater to the increasing traffic in recent years. The result has been very encouraging and since installing Dynatrace APM solution, LHDN has been able to optimize their internal business applications to deliver at better speed, reducing internal server response times and boosting overall productivity for LHDN staff.
Aside from LHDN, Dynatrace has also worked with Maybank Berhad and the Employees Provident Fund (KWSP), which has earned them the title of “Leader” in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Application Performance Monitoring (APM)” report since 2010. As a leader in APM market, Dynatrace is committed to contributing to the development of Malaysia’s ICT growth and the national goal of achieving a developed Digital Economy by 2020.
The next APM Meet-up will be hosted by Harald Zeitlhofer, Technology Strategist of Dynatrace on 15 April 2015, 7.00pm at First Avenue, Bandar Utama. He will be discussing the best practices on how to properly configure PHP on Nginx – an emerging lightweight HTTP server that is issued to run high performance websites, as well as common challenges and faster ways to fix PHP performance issues.
Admission is free. For more information and registration, please visit http://www.meetup.com/APM-Meetup-MY/.
