“Congrats! It’s an …IT!” Dell-EMC deliver their first joint offering

The first Dell and EMC joint offering to make its appearance at the end of the merger transaction is ProSupport One, a unified data centre support experience across Dell and EMC products for enterprise customers. It’s a strategic move designed to reassure existing customers who have concerns about their support experience post merger. The same customers might also be looking to benefit from Dell’s strong track record in the customer service arena with ProSupportPlus, its support and service offering for PCs and tablets. ProSupport Plus has a global Customer Satisfaction Score of 88.4 percent.

This speculation is supported by a statement issued by Dell EMC that said that there has been overwhelming input from both Dell and EMC customers to maintain their support experience, and also a clear demand for the merged company to expand its existing service offering and deliver a coordinated, consistent and collaborative experience.

ProSupport One, the enterprise offering, is tailored to deliver collaborative personalized service account management, coordinated and expedited technical support and choice of next business day or same day mission critical onsite response.

As this is a new support offering, customers will need to upgrade their existing service agreements to access what’s offered through ProSupport One.

ProSupport One is the first step on the Dell EMC Services journey to provide a seamless engagement, spanning the customer’s entire Dell EMC data center environment and preserving and extending the quality of its existing customer experiences.

“The unique family of businesses we’ve brought together under Dell Technologies has the vision, the solution capability, and the market-leading technologies required to enable organisations to leverage new solutions to transform their IT and evolve their digital business,” said David Webster, President, APJ Enterprise Business, Dell EMC.

“In a digital world where data volumes are growing exponentially and companies are changing their business models, our ability to enable competitive advantage for our customers by managing, storing, protecting and analysing data is at the very heart of our new company. And we believe that moving to a hybrid cloud model is key for companies to thrive in the future,” he added.

The merger between Dell and EMC was completed in early September 2016, with the company announcing a family of businesses – namely Dell, Dell EMC and Dell Technologies – as part of its new structure. Dell is its client solutions business, Dell EMC is the infrastructure solutions business and Dell Technologies contains Boomi, Pivotal, RSA, SecureWorks, Virtustream and VMware.
