WAVE PTX bridges devices across networks in Malaysia, Singapore

Motorola Solutions announced the launch of WAVE PTX for government and commercial organisations in Malaysia and Singapore on the 30th of April 2021.

WAVE PTX is the company’s cloud-based or on-premises, network-independent, multimedia communication subscription service that instantly enables communication between customers’ multiple work teams at the push of a button on push-to-talk (PTT) radios, as well as on Android and IoS smartphones, tablets and web applications on PCs across land mobile radio networks as well as fixed, Wi-Fi and cellular broadband networks, thus enabling teams to benefit from the PTT radio and broadband world nationwide.

The system ensures secure interoperability between two-way radio systems including DMR, TETRA and P25 and Android and iOS devices, as well as web applications on PCs.

Beside traditional PTT, it also enables the sharing of streaming videos, photos, text and files between users, dispatchers and talk-groups for increased communication clarity and situational awareness.

WAVE PTX Dispatch on PCs in the command centre enable customers to streamline workflows and improve team productivity by enabling them to effectively manage and rapidly respond to incidents, events, customer requests and other situations that need immediate attention by enabling command personnel to monitor multiple talkgroups, initiate group & individual calls, broadcast calls, implement supervisory overide, track message threads, monitor location & mapping, geofencing and in-map communication.

It basically enables customers to  organise and coordinate team communications while providing a comprehensive overview of all operations. This includes precise mapping tools to track the location of people and resources, helping to protect workers in times of emergency.

Besides public safety agencies, WAVE PTX also meets the operational needs of many industries including the transport and logistics, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail and hospitality sectors in Malaysia and Singapore.

Motorola Solutions has also released two purpose-built communication devices to access the WAVE PTX service, the LTE-enabled TLK 100 and the TLK150 two-way radios. The MOTOTRBO™ Ion, a new smart radio with a full Android interface and broadband data capabilities is also available for operation on WAVE PTX.

Ken Kuan, Motorola Solutions’ Channel Director for South East Asia said the solution was designed to support complex working environments by providing remote and cross-functional teams with access to reliable communication across multiple sites.

“WAVE PTX provides organisations with real time voice and data communication across their entire operations, helping to keep employees safe while also boosting efficiency and productivity,” Kuan said.

“We see growing demand from commercial organisations wanting to connect their teams via reliable and easy-to-use push-to-talk services in the field as well as through the variety of multimedia and video services that WAVE PTX offers,” he said.
