Intel Pro Wireless Display and Intel Wireless Docking capabilities are now available in Asia Pacific via the latest Intel Core vPro processor-based devices.
Addressing current trends for a more mobile and dynamic workforce, the latest fifth generation core processors also provide built-in security, faster performance and improved manageability.
“Different companies from different industries are moving towards this. Workplace transformation to drive stability, manageability and security is recognised as important as the workplace becomes more and more mobile,” Sumner Lemon, country manager of Intel Malaysia and Singapore told EITN at the launch of Intel’s fifth generation Intel vPro Core Processors.
Over 20 designs, with the newest vPro processors, are available in Asia from today, and they include enterprise tablets, 2-in-1s, ultrabooks, ultrathin clamshells and mini PCs from vendors like Toshiba, Lenovo, Dell, HP, Panasonic and Fujitsu.
Some of these are form factors up to three times thinner and 50 per cent lighter than laptops from just four years ago.
It is also possible to have the battery life extended to two times longer.
All of these, combined with Intel’s enterprise-grade wireless display and wireless docking solutions, offered a shared and more collaborative work environment for businesses.
Meanwhile, Tom Garrison, vice-president and general manager of Intel’s Business Client Platforms Division, said three companies in the last three months had consulted Intel on how to transform their workplaces in projects worth over US$1.0 billion each.
The new fifth generation Intel Core processor family comprises Intel Core M vPro, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i5 vPro, Intel Core i7, and Intel Core i7 vPro processors.
The devices would be available in Malaysia by end of May, 2015.
