TM Unifi’s New Biz Packages Expanded and Enhanced

By Cat Yong

Telekom Malaysia’s high-speed broadband offerings for small to medium enterprises have expanded with new Unifi BIZ packages – BIZ30 and BIZ50. Besides higher speed offerings, these packages now also include HyppTV offerings, making their SME service lineup now truly triple-play with a combination of voice, video and Internet.

At the launch event of these new business packages, Azizi A. Hadi, Executive VP for  SME at Telekom Malaysia (TM) emphasised how the small and medium enterprise (SME) segment was important for them, as these businesses contribute about 20% of TM’s total revenue every year.

“We share a common role with other SME associations like MDeC, SME Corp. and so on, to support the SME segment. We aspire to be a trusted ICT partner to them in Malaysia,” said Azizi.

He also shared that to date, TM has 498,000 SME customers which accounts for about 80% of SME businesses in the country. “And it’s growing daily,” he added.

Azizi described that TM offices were present in all 14 states to serve SME businesses, along with 105 TM Point outlets which have dedicated SME corners complete with consultants.Among the other services that TM readies for this segment, are outbound call centres for after-sales support as well as an interactive online resources portal.

Wide-ranging
Azizi admitted that of their near 500, 000 SME customers, 70% are SOHO micro types, 27% are small businesses, while the remaining 3% are medium-sized businesses. “80% of them subscribe to our 5MB packages, so there is a good opportunity for them to upgrade.”

Now TM’s Unifi service for SMEs, boasts expanded service offerings, for example IP VPN capabilities and even managed call centre solutions. Azizi alluded to having started working with partners on managed call centres for the last few months.

TM’s BizApp Store for SMEs

Organisations like Microsoft and Google have even chipped in with applications to TM’s online BizApp Store which TM offers as a value-added service to SME businesses.

Azizi proudly added, “TM is the only service provider in Malaysia with a full range of business solutions for the SME market.”
