Mitsui Knowledge Industry Co Ltd (MKI) has announced that it has begun offering maintenance and operation services for SAP ERP in collaboration with Tech Mahindra Limited (TechM), and signed a contract for this service with Mitsui & Co Ltd ( Mitsui).
When companies develop their business globally, the integration of their IT systems on a global scale in support of their activities is an important and indispensable challenge. However, in reality, not many companies are able to integrate their systems operating across the world and operate them efficiently, due to various factors, such as technical difficulties, cost, and immediacy.
As emerging technologies and services such as the cloud, IoT, and AI are now affecting corporate management, there is a rapidly growing need among companies who operate globally for developing systems of global-scale and securing efficient maintenance & operation services.
Responding to this market trend, MKI, jointly with TechM, a leading specialist in digital transformation, consulting and business reengineering in India, has begun providing maintenance and operation services for mission-critical global systems at optimal cost utilizing its advanced IT solutions, irrespective of time differences. At some major global companies with which TechM has contracts, annual maintenance and operation costs have been reduced by more than two-thirds. MKI is going to integrate the two companies’ maintenance and operation know-how to provide high quality, cost-competitive services.
“We are extremely pleased to partner with technology brand like Tech Mahindra. It has been our mission to offer reliable solutions and services to our customers and I am sure through this partnership, we will be able to offer best-in-breed technology offering to Mitsui and also our other customers in the region with the help of a reliable partner, Tech Mahindra,” said Masaki Saito, President and CEO of Mitsui Knowledge Industry.
“As a next generation digital technology solutions provider, Tech Mahindra is significantly investing in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA), machine learning and Internet of Things (IoT) which are expected to play a major role in shaping the future of the world that is increasingly becoming ‘connected’,” said C P Gurnani, CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra. “Japan is one of the key markets for us globally, and we are quite confident that this partnership with Mitsui Knowledge Industry (MKI) will enable us to bring in some of the best in breed technology solutions to manage mission-critical global systems of Mitsui,” Gurnani added.
Mitsui, the parent company of MKI, and the Mahindra Group, to which TechM belongs, have partnerships in a wide range of business fields, such as steel products, machinery and transportation systems, and ICT (information communications technology), and this collaboration between MKI and TechM constitutes part of their parents’ partnership.
MKI and TechM will advance their alliance to provide not only the global maintenance and operation services for SAP ERP announced here, but also the development of SAP ERP related solutions, and the development of other, non-SAP ERP systems and related maintenance and operation services, including cloud, IoT, and AI, in order to support their customers’ advanced IT needs.
