SecQ.me has enjoyed more than 35,000 downloads worldwide since its beta launch in Apple’s App Store on August 2011, and with the new roll out, the security app equips users with better safety measures.
Previously supporting SMS notification emergency triggers in 39 countries worldwide such as Australia, Denmark, Egypt, Greece, and Netherlands, the list has expanded to over 50 countries worldwide. The SMS notification is a feature that allows the app to directly send text messages to nominated emergency contacts.
The newest feature on the app is a shake function that will trigger an emergency request, which in turn will sound a loud emergency alarm. The shake will also automatically shoot a video for 5 to7 seconds, and the recorded clip will be sent and kept in SecQ.me servers. This feature is useful as it can be used by the authorities to track down assailants.
Using Global Positioning System (GPS) to track a users’ whereabouts, SecQ.me’s location tracker is now improved and more accurate. The GPS update resonates with SecQ.me’s principle of “prevention is better than cure”, and this overall performance enhancement translates to better danger prevention and security for users.
To celebrate the new release, SecQ.me is rewarding the first 100 participants who download the app, like and comment on their Facebook fan page (https://www.facebook.com/secqme). These early birds will each enjoy a free 3-month Personal Gold Package worth USD 9.99.
