The Global Data Center Report 2025, released by The Digital Infrastructure Collective (Asia), points to an accelerating concentration of AI infrastructure in three regional corridors: Singapore–Johor, London–Dublin and Virginia–Pennsylvania.
The report highlights that the Singapore–Johor nexus is uniquely positioned to anchor A.I. development in Asia, combining a critical mass of data center stock, robust policy support, and complementary strengths in semiconductors, connectivity, and energy strategy. It identifies that while North America and Europe continue to expand, Asia Pacific is the fastest-growing data center region globally, with capacity increasing at 19.3% CAGR from 2019–2024, outpacing both the Americas (18.8%) and Europe (13.3%).
In the Asia Pacific, the Singapore–Johor corridor is spotlighted as one of the world’s most promising digital infrastructure nodes, underpinned by critical data center stock, energy strategy, connectivity, semiconductor supply chain, tech ecosystem, strategic positioning, and Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
The report cautions that significant divides in compute resources persist across regions. In Asia, Vietnam has as many as 1.7 million people per MW of compute power, compared with just 8,000 people per MW in Singapore illustrating stark inequalities. Bridging this gap will be crucial to equitable access to A.I. resources and sustaining global innovation momentum.
As hyperscalers and ecosystem stakeholders accelerate AI infrastructure amid intensifying geopolitical and geoeconomic competition, narrowing this gap will be critical. The availability of advanced chips, energy, and connectivity may prove decisive in shaping future digital infrastructure and, ultimately, in determining leadership in the global AI race.
